Ashfield U3A Computing Group

With the number of people interested in the Computing Group growing, the provisional co-ordinator, Barrie Jackson, investigated a venue and had talks with Ashfield College who were willing to put on a course, provided that Ashfield U3A could guarantee that a minimum number of students would attend.

To this end, a 6-week course on "AN INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTING" became available at Ashfield College on Huthwaite Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield. This is taken by a college tutor at no cost to the students. This first course is fully subscribed but more courses may become available later. It is also hoped to put on more advanced courses at a later date and also to expand the subjects to include digital imaging.

At the meeting on 17th August, there were six members of the group who wish to learn more about the Internet and emails, and they started at The Tin Hat in Selston, a purpose-built new centre, on 21st September. There are 3 spare places for anyone interested in joining. If you are, please contact Jill Jenkinson directly at The Tin Hat, Selston. Watch this page for more details, email Barrie or telephone 01623-750466 to register your interest for future events.
