Ashfield U3A Book Group 'A'

Book Group 'A' meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 at Kirkby Library. The co-ordinator is Lynne Jackson. Enquiries should be directed to Lynne or telephone 01623-750466.

Below is a list of dates on which the respective books will be discussed. Books from the Library Service (shown in red) will be available at the previous meeting.

Leading a discussion:

On the occasions when we are all reading the same book:-
  • A leader will be nominated at the previous meeting who will identify aspects of the book worthy of discussion. These may be points of writing style or controversial issues raised by the book.

  • The leader should give a summary of the book and an opinion. This will usually create discussion naturally.

  • If there are no points arising naturally from the discussion the leader should introduce aspects for discussion which they feel may be worthy of discussion.
