Although main rooms of the house do not open until 12:30, 'step-below' basements are open from 11:00 to 12:30, with conservation talks at 11:30 on most days. Visit the lovely gardens and lake with its newly-restored boathouse, enjoy a picnic, or lunch in the restaurant before leaving, around 14:45 for Woolsthorpe Manor, a small manor house which was the birthplace of Isaac Newton, and the place where he made many scientific discoveries.
