Ashfield U3A Diamond Jubilee Hog Roast 2012
Hog Roast & Swing Band [23-44]
Over 100 Ashfield U3A members and friends gathered together at the Ashwood Centre in Kirkby-in-Ashfield on the evening of Saturday 26th May, 2012 to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee with a hog roast and swing band.
The first course was carved up and served by the suppliers - David Barlow and his wife of 'The Crackling Pig hog roast and barbeque' (Scott Barlow's Butchers) together with cobs, salad and pasta. This was followed by fruit flan. Water was provided but members brought their own drinks. A 'Heads and Tails' raffle was held after the food had been served and enjoyed.
The evening was rounded off by a programme of music played by the Ravenshead Swing Band with David Riley as Master of Ceremonies.
Many thanks to members of the committee, the catering sub-committee and other volunteers who decorated the hall with balloons and bunting beforehand and assisted with the serving of food during the event. Thanks also go to Trish Tootell and Janet Castle for supplying the photographs.
