The objectives of the group are threefold:

  • To support those who wish to follow the footsteps of their ancestors, and those who want to trace local, industrial or social history
  • To provide help by suggesting new avenues of research and the opportunity to share experiences.

Photograph below:Some members of the Family History group visited The National Holocaust Centre at Laxton for the summer outing, we were lucky that it was dry! It was a very thought provoking visit, wonderfully explained and displayed. In the gardens there were a 1000 white roses each commemorating someone lost due to their Jewish heritage. The cafe was great and all the staff very helpful, we highly recommend a visit to learn about this period in history that was never taught in our schools.
