We offer moderate walks from 7 miles to 9 miles, on the second and fourth Tuesdays
of the month. Please note that walks may have to be changed at short notice due to adverse weather conditions or for other reasons. Please do not bring dogs or children on the walks, which are over all types of terrain. Walkers should therefore be prepared for stiles and rough ground as well as mud. Remember that weather conditions can deteriorate very quickly, with little or no warning, particularly on high ground, so be prepared. We walk throughout the year, so we suggest the following items, some of which are seasonal:
Lifts, if required, are organised at the car park, so may we suggest a voluntary donation of £4.00 by each passenger to the driver. Should anyone have to leave the walk for whatever reason, then the walk leader must be informed for safety reasons. After the walk, why not round off the day by enjoying a relaxing drink with everyone at a local hostelry or coffee shop? For more details, contact the co-ordinators, David & Julia Porter, by telephone: 01623-620892. Len Hill has been appointed as deputy co-ordinator for the group: 01623-437726. Call for Walk Leaders: Will members who wish to lead walks please submit their walk(s), with route descriptions, proposed starting points and distances, as soon as possible. Help and guidance can be given if necessary. Any ideas for walks, or walking areas, are also welcomed from anyone who does not wish to lead a walk. All walks should be moderate or easy, but not strenuous. We usually complete the walks at approximately 3.00 pm. Also, please note new starting times as from May 2007.

David Riley, Margaret Crossley & John Hufton at Summer Lane, Wirksworth. Summer Walk This took place on 08 June 2010 when 24 intrepid walkers had a most enjoyable time hiking the 9 mile length of the Malvern Hills. After very heavy rain during the journey by minibus, miraculously the sun appeared enabling us to appreciate the fantastic views over to the Black Mountains in the West and the Cotswolds to the East. The day concluded with a meal at a local hostelry. Many thanks to Len Hill for organising such a great day out.
